i am intrigued by GEEZ magazine, and i’ve never even seen an issue! but, poking around on their website after reading this interview elsewhere, i just subscribed. looks absolutely fantastic, from my distant corner.

here’s what they say about themselves:

Geez Magazine has set up camp in the outback of the spiritual commons. A bustling spot for the over-churched, out-churched, un-churched and maybe even the un-churchable. For wannabe contemplatives, front-line world-changers and restless cranks.

Ok, I’ve looked at the online content and at a first glance I would have to agree with you.

But then I looked at subscribing – $33 for four issues. $8.25 per issue? They are supporting the campaign to “Make Affluence History”, but the only people who have an extra $8.25 per issue are people who are moderately affluent.

Does saying that make me one of the restless cranks?

Looks like fun. Great find.

I am a subscriber to Geez. I am slightly confused, however, because I received my subscription as a gift this last Christmas and two of my four issues were Summer ’06 and Fall ’06, before I was even a subscriber. Let me know if the same thing happens to you.

Great magazine, though, and not just for the writing. The thing is very well designed.

I’m thinking of subscribing to this – not sure about the cost for international subscribers though!

I pressume that the price is due to the fact they have no advertisements – still, I wonder why they don’t publish a cheaper copy online?
