last fall, we took an offering at one of the national youth workers conventions for some youth ministry training in myanmar (formerly burma). not exactly the most open country – in fact, i’m not allowed to post the photos of the training event, for the safety of the people who attended.
but i received this email recently — so cool:
Thanks to you and the extended YS family we have now trained over 175 youth workers there in Myanmar. I am extremely excited about the fact that we now have 3 certified Burmese trainers who are now taking the trainings into several key areas of this difficult country. Please enjoy the thought that you and the YS family have made a real impact in the lives of these dear and very dedicated youth workers!

I had a friend in seminary who was from Burma and who was planning to return once finished. Always admired his courage and faith. Great news, thanks for sharing what you can.
