well, here’s a mash-up that must signify the end of the world or something: a 62 year old capuchin monk who fell in love with the energy of heavy metal at a metallica concert 15 years ago, and now performs in his own heavy metal band (and has just released his second album)…

down at “Catholic Underground: Los Angeles” last month in West Hollywood, two young Brothers from the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal (Fr. Benedict Groeschel’s order) went up to warm us up for the headlining band… and one started rapping while the other began doing the human beat box. they were pretty good, too. tim’s and my jaws hit the floor.
We’re doing a series on monasticism in our high school ministry and we used this as an intro video. Sooo awesome.
