yeah, i think i’ll start posting again soon. lots to wrestle with. i have to think through some boundaries for myself before i jump back in too fully; but you’ll probably see me here within a week or so (just not 2x a day like i used to post!).

When I saw you back on FB I thought I would check here! I sincerely hope this helps you work through stuff… so many people feel connected through your experiences. When you decided to “detox” from that much online connectivity, it helped me inspect my own heart. I thought that was a very healthy thing to do, and very difficult as well. Kudos to you! May God lead you in all of this.

Matthew McNutt October 22, 2009 at 12:26 am

Praying for you man. Would love to see you back in the blogging world.

mike October 22, 2009 at 12:44 am

It would be great to have you back in the blogging world.
I’ll ask God to guide & lead & encourage & love you during this season.

Joel & Lisa Diaz October 22, 2009 at 12:48 am

It’s 1:45 here on the east coast, and I can’t sleep. We are in a bit of shock. We’re praying for you, Jeannie, Liesl and Max.

Welcome back, Marko. I missed you while you were gone. This, my friend, is where you belong — touching thousands of people’s lives through your website and blog posts, sharing love, laughter, joy, sorrow, hope, encouragement, and wisdom with all of your fellow sojourners in this crazy journey called life. By all means, set up your boundaries with that amazing family of yours, then keep those delicious posts coming!!

Chris October 22, 2009 at 1:13 am

Hey, Marko. Glad to hear from you. It’s always been a pleasure to hear your words of encouragement, struggle, and hope. Thank you for who you have been and praise God for who He is continuing to make you to be.

Friar_Tuck October 22, 2009 at 1:16 am

This is good news. Excellent.

Daryl Andrews October 22, 2009 at 1:39 am

(((hugs)))

HeidiRenee October 22, 2009 at 6:34 am

seems to me Zondervan has been taking lessons on how to treat youth pastors from some of the churches we’ve worked for. heartless. so sorry.

please know we are praying for you all.

The Thief October 22, 2009 at 8:00 am

I’m so sorry to hear the news about YS. My prayers are with you; you have always been one who puts God first, then your family, then all of us in the trenches. You have lived a life (so far) that God will tell reward with a hearty “Well done, good and faithful servant”

Terrace Crawford October 22, 2009 at 8:08 am

Heard about the news just before it broke and I’ve been praying for ya. I’m glad to see we at least get you back online. =)

glad to see you back and definitely thinking about you and your fam in the midst of the ys stuff.

Todd Porter October 22, 2009 at 8:26 am

I am looking forward to being able to hear from you in this medium, but you will be greatly missed at YS.

Adam Lehman October 22, 2009 at 8:28 am

Your next post should be something really personal. Like your deepest struggles and then what you ate for a snack. That should help with your boundaries. Also, use this space to criticize other christian leaders.

just jokin.

glad you’re back.

Marvin Nelson October 22, 2009 at 8:58 am

Glad you’re back brother! C&MA guys unite! I’ve missed your insights and will pray for your boundary making.

tomcottar October 22, 2009 at 9:11 am

i agree with Adam.

Also, try to include a detailed inventory of your haircare products and endorsements.

Derek October 22, 2009 at 9:16 am

Good to see you back. I can’t imagine what you have been going through this week (but then again, to some extent, based on various experiences, I think I can somewhat). Our family is thinking of yours.

Clay Conry October 22, 2009 at 10:32 am

SAWEET! I was just starting to read 2x a day when you “stopped nurturing the ysmarko thing” good to see you back us rookies appreciate the insight!

Jesse Fullen October 22, 2009 at 10:37 am

I’m praying for the comfort and peace that only Christ can bring.

peter October 22, 2009 at 10:50 am

- prayers with you brother…

Lantz Howard October 22, 2009 at 11:20 am

Not sure why, but God knows. I guess Zondervan may be blinded by a business mindset and not ministry. However, I know their decision was not made on a whim and I know that God has good things in store for you and your family. You are in my prayers!

Amelia October 22, 2009 at 11:53 am

You don’t even know me, Marko, but I’ve been a fan of YS and this blog for a long time. Your journey and insight speaks to so many, and God has used your ministry in my life. You and your family are in my toughts and prayers as you navigate and discern your next steps. Looking forward to seeing you return to the blogging world.

pbj October 22, 2009 at 12:12 pm

Once a day to once a week, whatever works is great.

bob c October 22, 2009 at 12:50 pm

Will be great to have your voice back amng the web

tea marko

KaGe October 22, 2009 at 1:24 pm

I’d say not more than once a week. Otherwise you might as well just stick to your FB page.

But good to see you’re back…what’re you planning on pursuing now?

Don Joel October 22, 2009 at 1:37 pm

Just heard the news. My prayers go out to you and your family.

david October 22, 2009 at 1:49 pm

your postings would be welcomed. our prayers are with you, your family and ys. thanks for being such an encouragement to me as a new youth minister.

ken October 22, 2009 at 2:39 pm

just heard – praying for you and your family and the next steps of your journey

Dean October 22, 2009 at 2:43 pm

You don’t know me from anyone.

You may not remember the youth staff who missed Donald Miller in Cincy a few years ago because we were washing dishes at Skyline Chili.

We remember you and your gift to us.

You have impacted many people and many ministries with the Good News of Jesus and with your faithful prayers.

Please know that the people you have been lifting up are now taking the opportunity to do the same for you.

As you have told us in so many ways: You are a much-loved Child of God.

Dan Endy October 22, 2009 at 3:08 pm

Is jumping up and down acceptable at this point? Love ya bro. Praying……

Andrew Seely October 22, 2009 at 3:11 pm

For someone who is fairly active on the web I missed all of the news.

A bit shocked and heartbroken over the news about YS. I’m hoping it was not too sudden and that they were good about having leading conversations about the decision.

Elated that you will be returning to the web and look forward to your voice, insight and passion.

Continue to be dangerous and wonderful, continue to seek to engage and listen to youth workers and continue to know that you have inspired and loved so many people who spend their time working with youth.

I’m sure we’ll talk more real soon.

Dan Haugh October 22, 2009 at 3:15 pm

May God bless your next journey as he has the last. You will continue to be a prophetic voice to us youth workers.
thanks for leading by example and living out grace and freedom in Christ

Rob October 22, 2009 at 5:07 pm

It’s obvious from how quickly these comments are posting just how much we’ve missed your voice. Going forward, even twice a week woud be awesome. Please know, as others have said, you are a prophetiic voice that we have sorely missed. My prayers to you and yours in the journey ahead.

Dan Rosch October 22, 2009 at 5:38 pm

Well cool if you are going to blog again. I am sad to hear of you leaving YS. Your legacy is huge!!

Marvin Nelson October 22, 2009 at 7:12 pm

Marko,

Much love to you and your family. I just found out. There are many Youth Pastors I know who are on your side (I’m one). The blogsphere has gone crazy for you. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Lovin’ you and all you’ve done for Youth Min. and will continue to do!

jdh October 22, 2009 at 7:57 pm

Have missed your presence on here. Hoping that your future direction is (made) clear & for all the best for you in ministry. Love your heart & looking forward to interacting again.

Matt McKee October 22, 2009 at 8:37 pm

I’ll be praying for you marko-glad you’re back in the blogging world and can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for you next. Thanks for your ministry to me and many other youth workers around the world!

Jeff Pom October 22, 2009 at 9:29 pm

Marko:

I would LOVE to see you back in the blogging world! You don’t have to do it twice a day. Heck – you don’t even have to do it every day. You do what you want, what you like to do. But your YM insights have been missed in my day. Plus your random stuff – love it! Welcome back. Praying that God will guide you in your new journey.

Erik w/a "k" Williams October 23, 2009 at 12:04 am

Marko,

Welcome back. As with all the rest, sorry for the news bro. Praying tonight for you and your family. Much love.

Sue Van Stelle October 23, 2009 at 12:13 am

Marko,

I’m glad your website is back up. I really missed this community. I’m still sad about the backstory of why it’s back up. Are you still going to be ysmarko? Or will you be “The Soul Artist Formerly Known as Ysmarko?”

Katherine October 23, 2009 at 9:06 am

Hey Marko,

I can’t wait to see what grand adventures God brings into your life next! And, I’m grateful we’ll be able to share your journey through this blog. God bless.

david October 23, 2009 at 9:31 am

gotta love “at-large.” does this mean you “escaped?”

Dave Johnson October 23, 2009 at 11:14 am

Welcome back to the Blogging world.

However I’m sad about the YS news. May God bless you and your family as you move into what He has for you.

Dave

Alice Smith October 23, 2009 at 11:18 am

Yes!!! Might Monday updates make a return?? will be v different I should think…but all to the good. Every blessing from across the pond.

David Lambert October 23, 2009 at 11:37 am

Marko, May God bless you and your family during this time of transition and grieving. May He fill you all with hope, with a view toward the future, and with the knowledge that you are part of an amazing, massive community of youth ministers who love you and care so much for you all…and not just because you can “produce” quality stuff, but because of the person you ARE. Who you are is so much more important to the Kingdom than what you can do. May you never forget that.

Scott Watkins October 23, 2009 at 11:50 am

1)Praying for you during this transitional season of life…

And

2)Looking forward to the second coming of Marko to the blogging world!!
