finally, we’ve developed a little family tradition over the last four years. we’ve happened to have wonderful family vacations four spring breaks in a row (a houseboat in florida, glacier national park in montana, new zealand, then this trip to mexico). we always read the easter story from scripture and spend time drawing pictures. then we set out all the pictures (from all the years), and spend time walking around quietly using the pictures as prayer prompts. it’s a cool thing. i loved the pictures liesl and max drew on good friday this year.
here’s liesl’s, a picture of the three crosses drawn in pencil. she told us, “i made it unfinished, like my life”:
and max drew a picture of judas giving jesus a kiss (and three guards hiding, waiting). i loved how he drew judas reaching around from behind jesus:
what a powerful tradition…
i love that you set each drawing out from the previous years and use them as prayer prompts. a lot different than my family easter tradition which consisted of treks to the santa anita horse track.
love that idea!
Nice….
Off the subject, two things to note. Someone mentioned the fiction book The Shack in the comments on your gender issue post. You need to read it if you haven’t.
Also, here’s a site with a bunch of cool clips from Expelled, which you highlighted some time ago http://www.wingclips.com/cart.php?target=category&category_id=778
nice going on the weight loss…
