i loved this story about the world’s smallest girl, 14 year-old Jyoti Amge, who lives in india, weighs 11 pounds, and has a height of 1 foot 11 inches. it wasn’t the intrigue of such a tiny person that i loved about it, though: it was how positive and wonderfully normal she sounds. she seems to be a 14 year-old girl first, and a tiny person somewhere well after that.
Jyoti also shares common interests with other teenagers, with a love for DVDs and fashionable dresses.
She said: ‘I am proud of being small. I love all the attention I get. I’m not scared of being small and I don’t regret it.
‘I’m just the same as other people. I eat like you, dream like you. I don’t feel any different.’
even her comment about her celebrity, ‘I’m proud of being small. I love all the attention I get because of it.’, and her desire to be an actress and travel to london and america, sounds like what you would expect from a 14 year-old girl. love it.
Jyoti would be a great illustration of someone who has not allowed her uniqueness or challenges in life to define or limit her.
this story comes from a really interesting source, where i also found this gem..
wonder if it would fly in the states..
