in the name of jesus, today, i stand for love.
despite our differences, i stand with those of muslim faith.
despite our differences, we are all part of god’s creation.
i will burn nothing today.
i will not speak ill,
nor wish ill,
nor think ill,
of any person today.
my choice, today, is to not even speak, wish, or think ill of those who, on this day, perceive a different dove than i.
my choice, today, is to believe that ‘the greatest of these is love’.
jesus replied: love the lord your god with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. this is the first and greatest commandment. and the second is like it: love your neighbor as yourself. all the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments.
burning the quran is antithetical to jesus and “all the law and the prophets”, it seems.
burning the quran is, then, in opposition to the bible. in opposition to christianity.
however,
rather than rail against the burners, with my mouth or with my heart,
today, i will live my opposition by living the opposite.
what is the opposite?
what is in alignment with the bible?
love.
today, i stand for love.
Thanks.
The greatest of these: faith, hope, love
Thanks Marko! It’s always the wackos that get “air time” on the news. Thanks for your Biblical perspective, as “quiet” as it may be.
Amen!
beautiful.
Thanks Marko …
Hi Marko, I’ve shared this on my blog. Thank you.
Thanks Marko.
I wondered on Saturday, if the events which took place on 9/11 was a way God giving christians an opportunity to outreach or practice forgiveness. Thanks for posting this!
