Never have been tempted to steal the baby Jesus from a nativity scene. But reminds me of a story about a little girl I baby-sit for (she’s 12 now), when she was 4, our baby Jesus dissappeared from our nativity, shortly after she had gone home. We looked everywhere, couldn’t find the baby Jesus. Called and asked her mom about it, she checked her bag, pockets, everywhere. No sign of the baby. Then, when the little girl was almost 7 she was helping me put Christmas decorations at our house, and she asks me remember the time the baby dissappeared I took him. I asked her what she did with him. Her answer “I flushed him down the toilet”. How’s that for taking off with the baby. The things kids do.
