oops — forgot the monday morning update yesterday! doh.
the weekend that was: it was christmasy! i got home from a little trip to oakland friday evening, and went straight into gift wrapping. saturday was a wonderful family day of christmas stuff (we celebrate early, since we always fly to detroit for extended family stuff). then sunday was a very long list of packing and prep for our trip to detroit.
where i am at the moment: in deeeee-troit, a.k.a. “the home of christmas”. well, that’s how it always feels to me, as i’m experienced 46 christmasses in my life, and every one of them has been in detroit. my family flew yesterday, and we’re here for 12 days. half of the time at jeannie’s parents’, and half at mine. today (tuesday) is actually my extended family christmas celebration.
on my to-do list this week:
– celebrate the birth of the christ child
– hang with family
– give a bunch of presents and receive one or two
– eat a lot
– see some friends
– write a bit more of the ms ministry book, and an article for youthwork magazine (in the uk)
procrastinating about: writing, i suppose.
book i’m in the midst of: still reading the speed of trust. i just haven’t read much on my plane rides, recently. and i can’t seem to get through this thing (even though it’s really good).
music that seemed to catch my attention this past week: nothing in particular.
next trip: this is one of those really rare times i can say… i have no trips until next year!
how i’m feeling about this week: how could i feel anything but anticipation and expectation?
