need harmony

dude — i almost missed this skit guys spoof that was in the youth specialties update (ysu) this week (please tell me, if you’re a youth worker, you get this free weekly email — it totally rocks). i hadn’t seen it before, and it frickin’ hilarious:

“do what millions of people have already done, and set your standards just a little bit lower. log onto need harmony…” (eddie’s take on neil clark warren is pretty good, btw!)

this would be great, btw, for a dating series, or sexuality series. so much to talk about with teenagers after watching this.

  1. tommy in the woman make up.. slightly strange.
thanks for bringing them to the NYWC they rock.

  2. I was disappointed to see this given what is written in Deuteronomy 22:5
A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this.

And then to lampoon such a great program trying to help people in need. Shameful!

  3. Is MM serious?
Man that was so so funny. I think the Skit guys should have their own sitcom. I would would watch it all the time.

  4. I fixed the audio on my computer just so I could watch this. it was worth the effort! These guys never fail. The Atlanta NYWC was the first time my wife had seen them and I’d built them up so much that I was a little worried that there was no way they could live up to the hype I’d been giving them. They not only lived up to my hype but exceeded expectations. I think i did myself a permanant injury laughing that night!

  5. That was hilarious. I’ve been on eharmony for over a year now myself, but I think that was too funny! And there’s always a little truth behind the humor…which is what makes it funny.

  6. Thanks for all the great comments! Ed and I had a blast making this video. For the record, our goal was to help people understand their need to have things right with God instead of looking for fulfillment in earthly relationships. We believe in e-harmony, e-commerce, and ET.
Oh yea and the truth is MM (aka Mark Matlock) is just jealous he didn’t get to dress up!

  7. Oh my g’ah! That was like so totally funny! I know a few people who could use that service. I could also see how this would be a good jumping off place to talk about issues relating to self-image, habits, relationships, and so on.

  8. This is Eddie from the Skit Guys. Thanks for the compliments. This video will be in You Teach v.3. It will be out this fall. You Teach v.1 and V.2 have these kind of videos in it as well.
Shameless plug but just wanted to let people know where to get this stuff.
    We are having a blast!
